Millennium is Coming
------------------------

With Windows 98 SE just released, Microsoft is busy
working on the next version of their consumer operating
system code-named "Millennium."  Millennium is scheduled
to be released in mid-2000 and is the last version of
Windows to be based on DOS technology.

So is Neptune!
-------------------

The successor to Millennium is "Neptune." The most
significant aspect of the new OS is that is will be
based on Windows NT (2000) technology rather than the
aging mix of DOS and 16-bit Windows technology used in
Windows 95 and Windows 98.  Microsoft has tentatively
planned to release Neptune in mid-2001.
