Windows 98 is Done
-----------------------

As previously speculated, Microsoft put the final touches on
Windows 98 on Friday, May 15.  The final build is reported to
be 1998.6, released to only selected developers and beta
testers this past week.


Antitrust Lawsuits
-----------------------

Talks between the United States Department of Justice and
Microsoft Corporation collapsed early Saturday.  The DOJ
and nearly 20 US states plan to file lawsuits against MS
beginning Monday, May 18.  That same day Microsoft intends
to ship the final version of Windows 98 to computer
manufacturers.

Microsoft plans to ship Windows 98 to consumers on June 25.
Whether Windows 98 will actually ship on that date remains
to be seen based on legal complications.
